Cinéma Québécois examines the evolution of our
cinema through its genres, its subjects and the comments of its craftsmen.
In a time when our cinema joins more than ever its audience, Cinéma
Québécois will review its origins, its history and its stakes.
Being at the same time fascinating and accessible, it will be shown
such as it is: a living entity, in perpetual evolution which not
only testifies of what it is, but also of what we are. Thirteen episodes
of the
television
series will examine our cinema, sometimes under the angle of its
founder subjects (family, identity, values), sometimes under the
angle of its most
popular genres (comedy, erotic cinema of the beginning of the 70s,
independent films of the last decade) and also under the angle of
its particularities. Our purpose is to brush a portrait so just,
alive and accessible
of the
long but fascinating road which led Quebec’s Cinema to finally meet
a public fascinated by its films, its craftsmen and their stories…
Interactive Components
The site of Cinéma Québécois aims at producing a durable
extension of the television series by making it accessible to a wide
public by giving them access to rich and interactive content. It establishes
an
interactive overview of Quebec’s movie landscape and becomes a continuation
of the television series. Thanks to the quality of its exclusive
content (approximately 130 portraits prepared by a cinema specialist,
the long
versions of the interviews made for of the television series, etc.)
and the quantity of visual archives, the web site can spread by an
infinite possibility of content and becomes a place of playful exploration
of the
material that gave birth to the television series. This reference site on our cinema will be constantly updated at the rate
of every new film production and will also be a place of exchanges for
the Internet users regarding current events of their cinema, as well as
an occasion to measure their knowledge by participating in challenges in
the form of games and quizzes.

Il était une fois dans le trouble is an absurd sitcom staring Jon,
Jee, Max, and Sophie. The four young entrepreneurs have launched a small
company whose mission is to solve their clients’ problems. With temerity,
sneakiness and a few ludicrous ideas, they succeed in fulfilling their mandate… more
or less!
Interactive Components
The Web presence is divided into two parts: the actual company’s
Web site, www.dansletrouble.com where kids can submit wacky problems that
the show’s characters quickly resolve… just like on television!
These solutions are put online through audio/video, photos or text
format. The second element is the question of the week. Kids are
invited to respond
to the question by creating their own virtual micro-company with
the help of simple technological tools provided to them. The proposed
solutions
are then voted on by the kids and the best performances are rewarded.

Television
In the dizzying whirlwind of modern consumer society, do we really
know what we are buying and why; who is selling it and who profits
from the sale? This is the subject of the Fric Show, a
quirky program built around the outlandish consumerism that defines
our societies. Hitting viewers straight away with an impertinent
tone and a critical viewpoint, the series aims to raise doubts and
encourage television viewers to ask themselves tough questions on
the economy and consumer society. And who would be the natural choice
to host such a show? Who else but Marc Labrèche! With the incisive
humour that we all expect from him, he turns a gaze that is both
surrealistic and critical on our society. A resolutely modern show
that adopts an outlook that is different but pertinent on today’s
consumer society. This is the Fric Show!

of the show itself. It will be at once current, informative and
funny, with an educational portion as well as a multimedia questionnaire.
The Website will offer original and groundbreaking content. The
horizontal link connecting the many platforms will be defined,
to
begin with, by the enjoyment and laughter experienced by viewers
of the televised version of Fric Show. For more information,
and to understand why they are laughing, they can then turn to
the
in-depth articles and solution clues on the Website. The Website
is of course broken down into 13 modules corresponding to
topics addressed during the episode. |

Everyday, Flash brings light on the artistic world and its stars, at home and abroad,
in all aspects: cinema, music, theatre, shows, books, fashion, etc. Hosted by Patricia Paquin,
Flash sends its reporters behind the scenes at launches,

the public's favorite stars. The reference for artistic news in Quebec,
Flash won the 2005 Gémeaux Award for Best cultural magazine.

"Les Citadins du rebut global" is a documentary that
centres on an astonishing experiment: can 5 volunteers use nothing
but salvaged materials to breathe life back into an abandoned building
located in the very heart of Montreal? 13 weeks, $15,000, only 1 gas tank
for the whole adventure, 1 container for their construction waste…that's all they have to win
their bet. As we follow the participants on their treasure hunt,
the series underlines all that can be accomplished by being
creative and by getting around our traditional consumption circuits,
while presenting a mosaic of the most environmentally innovating
cities in North America and Europe.
Interactive Components
The Website grew naturally from ideas developed in the series –
our aim is to address sustainable development issues in a positive,
hands-on manner. In one section, we learn how to apply simple environment-friendly
solutions. In another, we learn of ways to breathe life back into
old, discarded things. In yet another, we can unearth treasures
discarded by a neighbour. A forum for people who care about recycling, salvaging, and sustainable development,
the site is simply a mine of useful resources. It invites viewers
to become citizens of a new, greener world, by taking an active
part in bringing about change. For every contribution is important
to the ecological balance of our planet!

Deux filles le matin is a TV magazine made for contemporary
women. With a mix of good mood and practical information, our hosts
France Beaudoin, France Castel, Julie Bélanger and the invited
guest touch on our preoccupations, our ambitions as well as the little
and not so little things that bring happiness into our daily lives.
The range of topics covered is boundless. It is the sensitive, dynamic,
pertinent and sound process that the hosts, their guest and all of
the collaborators and experts make of these topics that help viewers
better understand life and appreciate its unexpected surprises.
Interactive Components

to its new interactive Website. In addition to offering a mega-directory
of all references mentioned during the show, the Website goes beyond
the content of the show by offering every week an exhaustive report
on three topics covered during the show. These reports are enriched
with discussion among the audience through online forums and allow
them to chat with experts invited to the show. Furthermore, the results
of instant surveys on the site will be regularly picked up on the
air by our hosts. Let's not forget the special projects allowing our

For over 12,000 years, the Innus have lived as the nomadic guardians
of Nitassinan, a huge territory in Northeastern Canada. Doing so,
they’ve acquired a very rich knowledge which they call Innu Aitun.
Considering that this unique richness essentially relies on oral tradition,
there is some emergency to preserve, i.e. to digitalize, as much of
it as possible before it is too late. This way, Innu Aitun
will be passed down for the tradition to live on, as well as accessible to
non aboriginal for a better understanding of such a different culture.
Interactive Components
In order to present and propagate the Innu knowledge and culture,
it has been thought off in three audiovisual segments, each one
being
complementary to the others: a yearly TV series (13 episodes

a unique ethno-history

11 Somerset is a series shot both in French and English.
It features two teenagers confronted with strange phenomena who embark
on adventures that are as thrilling as they are fascinating. Owing

While every enigma boasts scientific and technological explanations,
